Example: make NaCl-water solution in wt% at 25C
In main menu Click Popular services>Make solution, then choose wt% as concentration,
use default
temperature 25C at which solutionton is to make (figure 1). Then choose method to add solvent information
from system (see figure 1) or add my solvent (see
figure 2). For wt% unit, molecular weigt input is not required. Solvent (water)
density is required. If user wants to calculate volume of solute, and final solution
volume, NaCl density is required. The system gives warning message if required information is missing.

Figiure 2. Make NaCl-water solution, add user's solvent.
After setting up solvent and solute, click make solution button to next step. The user can input target concentration 2% and solvent volume 1000 ml. Then click calculate button to
get solute mass, volume, solution volume. The user may
use 20.34796 g NaCl mass as input to calculate solute, solvent, and final solution
volumes (see figure 4). The system uses
ideal solution model to deal with final solution volume. The user may force NaCl
volume contribution as zero by inputting 0 at solute volume (see figure 5).

zero.
